How to play Monkey Mart

Monkey Mart is an idle management game: you never click a button to work. You walk your monkey onto a station and the job runs by itself for as long as you stand there, so the whole game is deciding where to stand next.

• Move: WASD or the arrow keys on a keyboard, or drag anywhere on the screen on a touchscreen.
• Plant, then carry. Stand at a planter to fill your arms, walk to the matching shelf and stand there to unload it. Customers only buy what is actually on a shelf.
• Empty the till. Standing at the cashier serves the queue; the money goes straight into your balance and pays for everything else.
• Spend on stations, not decoration. Green pads on the floor are unlocks - stand on one and hold to buy the next crop, machine or checkout.

Once a section has its own assistant monkey it keeps working while you are somewhere else, which is when the store finally starts running without you.

How to grow the store faster

1. Hire before you upgrade. An assistant on bananas earns all day; +1 carrying capacity only helps while you are personally walking.
2. Keep the front shelves full. Customers walk to the first thing they want and leave if it is empty - an empty shelf is a lost sale, not a delayed one.
3. Unlock in a line. Buying a station on the far side of the shop stretches your walking route; the shortest loop between planter, shelf and till is the whole optimisation.
4. Do not hoard money. Idle cash earns nothing. Every unlock raises income, so the balance is only useful once it is spent.
5. Come back later. The store keeps trading while the tab is closed, so a short session, then a return, beats one long grind.
